Manufacturers are beginning to add non-wood laminates to wooden racquets to improve stiffness. Non-wood rackets were first made of steel, then aluminum, and then carbon fiber composites. The wood is still used for real tennis rackets. Most rockets are now made of composite materials, including carbon fiber or fiberglass, metals such as titanium alloys, or ceramics.
