This is a large bunch of blue grapes. Grapes are the fruits of the vine. Grapes are consumed raw, dried - as raisins, processed - in the form of drinks such as wine. About 70% of the world's grape production is used to make wine. The color of the fruits varies from light green, yellow, amber, pink, red, blue, to dark purple and even black. Unlike some citrus fruits, grape ripening is not stimulated by ethylene. When the fruits ripen in them, a high content of sugars is found. The sugar content is much higher than in other fruits – over 25%. Grapes are also rich in vitamins - C, B and provitamin A, which strengthen the nervous system, walls of blood vessels, bones, nails and have a beneficial effect on vision. Thanks to its accessibility and wide distribution, grapes have been used since ancient times as food, medicine, a cure for rest and raw material for wine. Cultivation of cultivated grapes began about 6000-8000 years ago in the lands of the Thracians, where the Thracian god Dionysus is revered. One of the oldest finds of a wine cellar is in the lands of present-day Georgia, where a cellar dating back to around 8000 years was discovered.
