These are ancient gold earrings, part of the Kralevo Treasure. The Kralevo Treasure is a group of gold and silver objects found during the exploration of a Thracian burial mound near the village of Kralevo, Targovishte. The find is dated to the first half of the 3rd century BC. The two gold earrings are in the shape of an open hoop, one end of which is shaped like a lion's head and the other is pointed. They weigh 6.1 grams each. Their inner diameters are 1.4 and 1.1 cm. This type of earrings were widespread in the 4th - 3rd centuries BC. on the territory of Thrace. Two groups are distinguished from the finds, which are made of precious metals - gold and silver. One group is of jewelry: the two gold earrings, two gilt silver bracelets, and a silver breastplate. The second group consists of 47 gold appliqués for the decoration of horse ammunition. The set is made in one style and shows the hand of a master or at least of a studio. Various techniques were used: casting, hammering on a die, granulation, filigree imitation and inlay with colored glass paste. All these techniques were known and widely used by the Thracian masters of the 4th - 3rd centuries BC. and show that the gold processing skills of the Thracians from the 5th millennium BC, attested by the treasures near Varna and Veliko Tarnovo, have not been lost.
